Phyllis June Jones, age 90 of Altamont, formerly of Kinmundy, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont. Phyllis was born on June 5, 1930 in Success, Missouri the daughter of Archie Leroy “A.L.” and Mary Louise (Thompson) Sullivan. She married Harold Walker Jones on August 21, 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2020. Survivors include her children, Steve Jones and wife Julie of Kinmundy, Jeanne Laur and husband Steve of Maryville, and Kevin Jones and wife LuAnn of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Jill Wright and husband J.J., Derek Laur and wife Maggie, Matthew Laur and wife Carrie, Drew Jones and friend Shannon Roberts, Dirk Jones, Adam Jones and wife Grace, and Whitney Jones; great-grandchildren, Branden and fiancé Audrey Winters, Jacie, and Isabella Hosick, Katie, Andrew, Ty, Annabelle, and Grady Laur; brothers, Charles “Chuck” Sullivan, Norman Sullivan and wife Aloma and Larry Sullivan and wife Helen; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Vernon Sullivan, Sterling “Short” Sullivan, Edith Dace, Violet Tockstein, and Delores Sullivan and one brother in infancy. Phyllis was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and crafts. Private graveside services will be held at Sandy Branch Cemetery in Kinmundy. Memorials can be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church or Sandy Branch Cemetery and can be received at the Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
