Obituary of Gladys Deadmond
Gladys Deadmond, 76 of Odin, passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia
Gladys was born on January 10, 1943 in Centralia to Herman and Esther (Meredith) McClelland. She married Evan Deadmond on June 22, 1963 at Bethel Baptist Church in Odin and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include, daughters, Dana Hiltibital and husband David of Sandoval and Christy Jordan of Sandoval; grandchildren, Chastity Pittman and husband Brandon of Florissant, Missouri, Brandi Gore and husband Adam of Sandoval and Brittany Ahlf and husband Chris of Centralia; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Calhoun, Lexi Calhoun, Kolten Calhoun, Carter Ahlf, Baili Gore, Abigail Gore and William “Will” Gore; brother, Jack McClelland and wife Sue of Forsyth; sister, Jane Gaston of Salem; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Randy Allan Deadmond; grandson, Brad Jordan, granddaughter, Bridgette Jordan and two brothers-in-law, Rick Gaston and Gary Deadmond and wife Sandra.
Gladys was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Odin, where She was the church Treasurer for over 25 years. She worked as a clerk in the Marion County Treasurers Office, was the Treasurer of Andereck-McClelland Cemetery, a Precinct Committeeman for the Democratic Party and a member of the Isaac Hall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Funeral services for Gladys Deadmond will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Bethel Baptist Church in Odin, with Pastor Ray Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in the Andereck-McClelland Cemetery in Sandoval. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund; Andereck-McClelland Cemetery Trust Fund or the Potentials Foundation and can be received at the funeral home.
