Noah Robert “Bob” Jones, age 87 of Salem, passed away on November 13, 2020 at Salem Township Hospital in Salem. Bob was born on March 4, 1937 in Kinmundy, Illinois, the son of Noah Jasper and Lula Corina (Yost) Jones. He married Nellie Mae Lesher on July 3, 1959 and she preceded him in death in 2018. Survivors include his son, Robert Keith Jones and wife Vonda of Albion, IL; their daughter, Mickey Horton and husband JD of Grayville, IL; and their three children, Rebecca, and twins Will and Alex; his daughter, Vickie Laird and husband Kenny of Odin; their son, Todd Laird and wife Aimie; and their daughters Ailia and Kendall all of Salem; and Tana Simcox and son Treyton of Kell. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Mildred, Alice, Donna, Rosetta; and brothers, Darrell and Harold. Bob worked at many companies; he once did ironwork on the construction of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, he did maintenance work at Caterpillar in Decatur, and after moving to Salem, he worked at Dickerson building oil field trucks, and finally his last years until retirement were spent at Universal Packaging/ Graphic Packaging. Graveside services for Noah Robert “Bob” Jones will be held at a later date. The Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements.
