Carol Sue Roberts, age 78 of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Aperion Care in St. Elmo. Carol was born on July 5, 1942 in Salem to Francis and Viola (Mulvaney) Ritter. She was the second of four children. She attended Salem schools and graduated from Salem High School. She married Franklin Darrell Roberts on August 16, 1962 in Salem, IL and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2016 She is survived by her four sons, Chris Roberts and wife Karla of Springfield, Craig Roberts of Marion, Brad Roberts of Central City, and Brian Roberts of Central City; grandchildren, Tyler and Mackenzie Roberts; and one brother, Gary Ritter and wife Katie of Danville. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Bruce; and sister, Betty Eubanks. Carol worked as a homemaker and loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Private Graveside Services will be held at Phillips Cemetery in Kinmundy. Memorials can be made to Phillips Cemetery and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
