Obituary of Mary K. Arnold

Mary K. Arnold, age 92 of Salem, passed away at her home on Monday, June 21, 2021. Mary was born on October 15, 1928 in Mattoon, IL the daughter of C. Don and Hattie N. (Thompson) Cole. She married Paul Thomas Arnold on July 16, 1950 in Charleston and he preceded her in death on August 22, 2010. She is survived by her four children, Susan Rippy and husband Steve of St. Peter, MO, Sandy Lu Newport and husband Fred of Champaign, Mike Arnold and wife Diane of Charleviox, MI, and Connie Fulton and husband Bill of Kell; grandchildren, Tony Rippy and wife Mary, Jennifer Mainieri and husband Nick, Joshua Newport and wife Martina, Amanda Leinhardt and husband Robbie, Thomas Fulton and wife Jenny, Robert Fulton and wife Kaitlyn, Aaron Arnold, Eric Arnold, and Elliot Arnold; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Brian and Maive Rippy, Camden and Braden Mainieri, Zacheriah, Charlotte, and Mary Virginia Leinhardt, and Nickali, Heaven, Zak, and Gwen; sister, Bonnie L. Wright of Robinson; brother, Francis E. Cole of Crowley, TX; and sister-in-law, Donna B. Cole of Rantoul. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, E. Raymond Cole and Charles Wayne Cole, sister-in-law, Pem B. Cole; and brother-in-law, Warren D. Wright. Mary was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Salem. She was also in the Alpha Circle of the United Methodist Women. She worked as a homemaker, raising her family. Funeral Services for Mary K. Arnold will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Mike Smith and Paul K. Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
