Obituary of Brenda Ann Sullens

Brenda Ann Sullens, age 62 of Vernon, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at her home. Brenda was born on May 17, 1962 in Salem, the daughter of Boyce and Jeannie (Rose) White. She married Leslie Dean “Les” Sullens on May 12, 1984 at Evergreen Christian Church in Salem, and together they shared 40 years united in marriage. Survivors include her husband, Les Sullens of Vernon; mother, Jeannie White of Salem; two sons, Josh Sullens and wife Jennifer Kramm of Alma, Jeremy Sullens and wife Cindy Nguyen of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, MacKenzie, Aubrey, Mason, Jace, and Madilyn; god-granddaughter, Alivia; brother, Chris White and wife Belinda of Iuka; mother-in-law, Betty Sullens of Patoka; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Boyce White; sister, Bonnie White; and father-in-law, Dean Sullens. Brenda was a member of the Patoka Baptist Church. She had worked for St. Mary’s Hospital as a CNA, Leo Brown Lumber, and later for Graphic Packaging. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids, and taking in cats that needed a loving home. Funeral services for Brenda Ann Sullens will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Shannon Bopp officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery in Alma. There will be a visitation held on Thursday, October 24th at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois Charitable Fund– Centralia, Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.
