Marie Norma Braddy, born April 30, 1944, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on June 8, 2024, at 12:15 am. Marie was the daughter of Fred Wallace Simpson and Norma Rose Simpson (Carrillo). She married Richard Braddy on March 26, 1960, at Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois, and they made their home in Walnut Hill. Marie was a retired home health caregiver who loved bingo, playing slots, and spending time with her family. She adored her cats (Winnie, Rosie, and Tball), enjoyed feeding the neighborhood raccoons, and appreciated a good meal with extra gravy at the Downtown Lounge. She is survived by her children: David (Roberta) Braddy of Walnut Hill, IL; Jim (Tina) Braddy of Dix, IL; Dennis (Anita) Braddy of Topeka, KS; Jerry (Alayna) Braddy of Apple Valley, CA; and Dana (Chad) Mullens of Greenbrier, TN. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, her brother Tom (Tammy) Simpson of Centralia, IL, and her sister Barbara Crawford of Odin, IL. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, and her brothers Chuck and Bobby Simpson. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. with a service following officiated by Brad Garner.
