Obituary of Betty L. Masters

Betty L. Masters, age 84 of Salem, passed away on January 10, 2020 at Salem Township Hospital. Betty was born on July 28, 1935 in Cartter, the daughter of Oga and Lela (Albert) Meador. She married Lowell Kern Masters on February 11, 1956 in Mt. Vernon and he preceded her in death. Betty is survived by son, Greg Masters and wife Edna of Kell; two daughters, Marlena Masters Pate and husband Steve of Beckemeyer and Kayla Ranea Masters Thomas and husband Ron of Salem; four grandchildren, James A. Masters and wife JoDonna, Debra A. Beard and husband Matt, Tyson A. Thomas and wife Stephanie and Taylor R. Thomas; four step-grandchildren, Kristy Heggemeyer Pate, Steven Adam Pate, Joshua Pate and wife Alley and Lora Densmore and husband Shane; ten great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; one sister Patricia Collier and husband Jerry of Florida and one sister-in-law, May Etta Chapman of Centralia. She was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Dewayne Masters; one brother, Larry Meador; one sister, Brenda Meador; two brothers-in-law, Clark Chapman and Raymon Masters. Betty was a member of the Harvey’s Point Christian Church in Cartter. She worked at the Salem National Bank for six years and later worked as a licensed babysitter for several years. She enjoyed bowling in league at the Salem Bowl for several years. Funeral Services for Betty L. Masters will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Matt Renaud officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Harvey’s Point Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given to the Harvey’s Point Christian Church or the Donoho Prairie Christian Church and can be left at the funeral home. Online obituary information can be found at CrouseFH.com
