Anton Plese, age 90 of Salem, passed away peacefully in his home on March 4, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. He was born to Mike and Elizabeth Plese in Livingston, Illinois on February 21, 1930, both have preceded him in death. Anton was so happy to have celebrated his 90th birthday. Mr. Plese was employed at Kaskaskia Workshop and attended day training at the West Gate site in Salem. Anton was a soft spoken man whom never met a stranger, was kind and loving. His smile was contagious. He loved classic country music, dancing, westerns, art and his glasses. He loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener in his younger years. A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem, Illinois on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Zach Garrett officiating. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is in charge of arrangements.
