Obituary of Myrtle Marie Bryan

Myrtle Marie Bryan, age 93 of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor. Marie was born on October 30, 1930 in Alma, the daughter of Charles and Verlie (Mulvaney) Fradenberg. She married Frank Bryan on August 23, 1947 in Benton and he preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Allen Bryan and wife Cynthia of Mt. Vernon, Charles “Chuck” Bryan and wife Linda of Florida, and Rodney Bryan of Salem; son-in-law, Verland Carter; daughter-in-law, Gail Bryan; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Danny Bryan; daughter, Kathleen Marie Carter; and three sisters. Marie was a long-time member of the Church of God in Salem. She worked for Brown Shoe Company in Salem and then went on to work as the head of housekeeping at Doctors Nursing Home until her retirement after 19 years. She enjoyed cross stitching and baking, making some of the best no-bake cookies. Loving on her kids and grandkids brought her much joy. Funeral services for Myrtle Marie Bryan will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, in East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Heritage Woods of Mt. Vernon – Activities Fund and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.
