Michael Weems, age 67 of Salem, passed away at Salem Township Hospital on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Michael was born on November 8, 1956 in Salem the son of Lyle and Jean (Meador) Weems. He married Sharon Kay Chandler on July 10, 1987 in Sandoval and she preceded him in death on February 2, 2023. Survivors include his father, Lyle Weems and wife Carol of Carlyle; children, Steven Sill and wife Rebecca of Iuka, Sharona Kleiboeker and husband Waylon of Iuka and Matthew Weems and wife Amanda of Iuka; grandchildren, Chandler Sill, Chance Sill, Brenden Kleiboeker, Ethan Kleiboeker, Jalynn Watson and husband Michael, Hosea Weems and Hope Weems; great grandson, Nolan James Watson; and sister, Jana Fulton and husband Steve of Carlyle. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Weems; and wife, Sharon Kay Weems. Michael retired after working at Bettendorf-Stanford, World Color Press, and North American Lighting. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, collecting cars and guitars, and was an avid fisherman. A memorial service for Michael Weems will be held at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10:00 am with Trent Ice officiating.
