Obituary of Gary Paul Bassett
Gary Paul Bassett, age 69 of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.
Gary was born on July 13, 1954 in Mt. Vernon, the son of William and Doris (Wilson) Bassett.
He is survived by his mother, Doris Bassett of Salem; daughter, Bobbi Jo Shadowens of WI; sister/friend, Jeri Bolton and husband Larry of Salem; grandchildren, Kalie and Colin; aunt, Lyndall Patterson of Aurora; and cousins, Charles Wilson of AL, Rhonda Proctor of FL, and Michael Moore of FL.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father; brother, Roger Bassett; an aunt; and an uncle.
Gary worked for many years as a welder in the construction industry. He enjoyed traveling and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was an avid bowler, earning many 300-point rings.
A graveside service for Gary Paul Bassett will be held at Noon on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Paradise Cemetery in Salem with Shannon Bopp officiating. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements.
