Obituary of Patricia "Pat" Ann Walker
Patricia (Pat) Ann (Edwards) Walker born October 5, 1941 the daughter of Fred and Florence (Freiss) Edwards of Wamac passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023. She married Charles Walker of Patoka on March 18, 1958 and had 3 children. She worked alongside her husband for decades on the family farm taking care of livestock, driving grain trucks and tractors, gardening and canning, and everything else a farm wife does! Later she also worked for Big 3 Precision in Centralia and eventually retired from NAL in Salem. Pat enjoyed spending time with family most of all. She was a great cook, loved anything with lemon and took her coffee strong and black.
Surviving children include 2 daughters Dana Meyer and husband John, and Stacey Beavin and husband Dan. She had 6 grandchildren, Kari Meyer, Jason Meyer and wife Tasha, Korey Walker and wife Abbey, Kolten Walker and wife Kayla, Sam Beavin and Grace Beavin as well as 8 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Rosemary Alexander and husband Larry, and brother-in-law Mike Mulvin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her loyal chihuahua Gretchen.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Keith, daughter-in-law Kelly, and great-granddaughter Hailey Jo Lynn Walker as well as her parents and brothers, Donald, Darrell, Dwight, Noel Keith, Clarence, and Lowell Edwards; sisters, Mary White, Betty Edwards, and Gloria (Jeannie) Mulvin.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Residential Hospice Services, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons, or the donor’s choice. The family would like to extend their thankfulness to the hospice caretakers and the staff at Twin Willows for taking such wonderful care of her in her last days.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated and buried next to her husband at Paradise Cemetery in Salem, IL. Celebration of life services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with a brief visitation from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the services.
