Obituary of Lorraine Gray Claybaugh
Lorraine Gray Claybaugh, passed from this earthly home on September 28, 2020.
Lorraine was born July 30, 1921 the daughter of John Logan Gray and Minnie Bell Dulaney. Her childhood home of Merom, Indiana was high on the bluff overlooking the Wabash River. She married the love of her life, Charles W. “Wayne” Claybaugh, in 1938 and they moved to Tucson, Arizona. They moved to Salem in the mid 40’s and lived on South College Street until 1968 when they returned to their desert home of Tucson. Lorraine watched Tucson grow from a small little town in 1938 to the large city it is today.
Lorraine is survived by sons, John T. Claybaugh and wife Sharon of Texico, Illinois and Kenneth Claybaugh and wife Jennie of Tucson, Arizona; daughters, Karen Kelter of Tucson, Arizona, Elaine Hall and husband Mike of Green Valley, Arizona, and Glenna Denman and husband Bill of Georgetown, Texas; sister Nadine Spenner of Centralia, Illinois; and her beloved grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles W. Claybaugh; son Charles Claybaugh; two sisters; and three brothers.
Crouse Funeral Home is assisting the family. Lorraine will be returned to Tucson where she longed to be. She will be laid to rest next to her husband of 62 years.
