Constance J. “Connie” Heise, age 80 of Salem, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at her home with her husband by her side. Connie was born on August 14, 1943 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Martin and Carroll (Sift) Van Blaricom. She married Ken Heise on June 11, 1966 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville, Illinois. Survivors include her husband, Ken Heise of Salem; daughter, Sherri Jesgarz and husband Peter of Shelbyville, Illinois; son, Brian Heise and wife Yolanda of Chester, Virginia; six grandchildren, Anne Jesgarz, Timothy Jesgarz and wife Emily, Luke Jesgarz, Christian Ross, Mellisa Heise, and Conner Heise; brothers and sisters in law; James Diehl of Alabama, James Heise and wife Lois of Waterloo, Illinois, Edward Heise and wife Andrea of Crosby, Texas, Russell Heise and wife Sallie of Boyd, Texas, and Norma Puterbaugh of Aurora, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Cheryl Diehl. Connie was a devoted member of the Salem Lutheran Church where she could be found helping in the kitchen for many occasions. She loved to cook and to research ancestry, but most of all loved spending time and playing games with her family. Celebration of Life services for Constance “Connie” Heise will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Feldmann officiating. There will be a time to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Salem Lutheran Church and will be received at the church or at Crouse Funeral Home who is assisting the family with arrangements.
