Bruce Cobb, age 59 of Salem, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 at his home with his family at his side. Bruce was born on June 1, 1964 in Flora, Illinois, the son of Gerald Vance Cobb Sr. and Walterene Pearce. He married Deanna (Colman) Cobb on February 6, 1993 in Louisville, Illinois and they shared 30 years together. Survivors include his wife, Deanna Cobb of Salem; his mother, Walterene Pearce of Xenia; two children, Tyler Cobb of Salem and Stephanie Dodson and husband Robert of Salem; two grandchildren Lilly Ann and Journee Cobb; two brothers, Terry Lee Cobb of Xenia and Gerald Vance Cobb Jr. and wife Amanda of Flora; mother-in-law, Carolyn Colman of Louisville; father-in-law, John Colman and wife Paulette of Louisville; brother- in-law, Shawn Colman of Iola; and a sister-in-law, Heather Blank and husband Kevin of Louisville. Bruce is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Vance Cobb Sr.; his grandparents, Edwin and Berniece Pearce, and a nephew, Bradley Cobb. Bruce was a hard worker and held various jobs. He worked for Wheaton Plastics, ACI Roofing and Cobb Construction, and WBT/nVent. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the Legion Riders Post 128. He loved to ride his Harley. He enjoyed fishing, deer and turkey hunting, NASCAR, and Cowboys football. Funeral services for Bruce Cobb will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. There will be a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oskaloosa Cemetery in Xenia.
