Susan Lyn Gordon, age 54 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at her parent’s home in Salem. Susan was born on January 27, 1969 in Sparta, Illinois the daughter of Thomas and Linda (Caudill) Gordon. Survivors include her parents, Thomas and Linda Gordon of Salem; her brother, Tom Gordon and wife Vanessa of Nashville, IL; nieces, Tiffany Apitz and husband Darick of San Diego, California, and Sydney Gordon and special friend Drew Knope of Nashville, IL; nephews, Blake Harrison of Nashville, Illinois, and Austin Harrison and wife Becca of Memphis, Tennessee; and a great nephew, Axton Harrison. She is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Paul and Erma Caudill; paternal grandparents, Herschel and Alma Gordon; an uncle, David Caudill; and two aunts, Mary Jones and husband Jerry and Pat Baue. Susan worked for several years as an operator at North American Lighting in Salem. She was of the Christian Faith. She had a special love for animals, science fiction, and she loved to read. Celebration of Life services for Susan Lyn Gordon will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Claude Howell officiating. There will be a time to visit with the family ahead of the service from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Salem Animal Shelter and will be received at the funeral home.
