Philomena “Tootsie” Tumbry, age 72 of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Tootsie was born on September 12, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Rudy and Stella (Faliszek) Tumbry. Survivors include her nieces, Roseann Brandt and husband Derrick of Sandoval and Michelle Casteel and husband Rick of Parma, Ohio; nephew, Ray Tumbry Jr. and wife Laurie of North Ridgeville, Ohio; and great nieces and nephews, Zach, Austin, and Macie Brandt, and Eric and Kailey Brubaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Mary Sangregory, Florian Tumbry, and Raymond Tumbry. Tootsie retired from O.M. Group in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Salem. She loved watching all types of sports, but especially loved cheering on the Cleveland Browns. There will be a family graveside service for Philomena “Tootsie” Tumby at Holy Cross Cemetery in Cleveland Ohio.
