Opal Weems Brazel, age 82 of Iuka, passed away on Tuesday October 27, 2020 at Odin Care Center in Odin. Opal was born on September 5, 1938 in Marion County, IL to Sherman and Edna (White) Weems. She married Robert A. Brazel on August 27, 1955 in Salem, IL and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Steve Brazel of Mt. Vernon; brother, Charles Weems of Salem; granddaughter, Amy Brazel; and a great granddaughter, Kaiely. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Randy Brazel Opal was a homemaker and later worked as a cashier at Walmart for over 20 years. Funeral services for Opal Brazel will be held on Wednesday November 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Claude Howell officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery in Iuka.
