Weldon Dennis Wilson, age 69 of Salem, passed away at his home on Monday, March 6, 2023. Dennis was born on May 12, 1953 in Carmi, the son of Weldon W. and Norma D. (Crawford) Wilson. He married Bobbi Vincent in 1980 and she preceded him in death on July 25, 2022. He is survived by three siblings, Deborah Murphy of Keenes, Cathy Hill and husband Chris of O’Fallon, and Christopher Wilson and wife Stephanie of Springfield; two step-children, Lea Racca and Brent Racca; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; an infant sister, Dana; and brother-in-law, Max Murphy. Dennis followed in his father’s footsteps and worked in the oil industry as a gauger for Bi-Petro. He was an avid dog lover and was interested in his family’s genealogy and their Native American heritage. A private burial will be held at a later date. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements.
