Sharon Kay Weems, age 67 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Sharon was born on October 27, 1955 in Salem, the daughter of Bob G. and Clara (Doty) Chandler. She married Michael Edward Weems on July 10, 1987 in Sandoval, and he survives in Salem. In addition to her husband Michael, she is survived by her mother, Clara of Odin; children, Steven Sill and wife Rebecca of Iuka, Sharona Kleiboeker and husband Waylon of Iuka, and Matthew Weems and wife Amanda of Iuka; grandchildren, Chandler Sill, Chance Sill, Brenden Kleiboeker, Ethan Kleiboeker, Jalynn Nix and fiancé Michael Watson, Hosea Weems and Hope Weems; great grandson, Nolan James Watson; and special friends, Michelle Hensley and husband Mike of Sandoval, Cathy Spenner of Salem and Carol Rogers of Salem. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Robert A. Chandler. Sharon was employed with North American Lighting for 16 years and prior to that had spent 22 years at World Color Press. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, and especially her grandchildren. Funeral services for Sharon Kay Weems will be held at Noon on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Salem. Memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association and can be left at Crouse Funeral Home.
