Obituary of Sue Swift
Sue Swift, age 87 of Alma, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at her home with her family and friends by her side.
Sue was born on February 20, 1935 in Alma, the daughter of Marshall and Nellie (Nichols) Williams. She married Ronald Swift on August 22, 1955 in Corinth, Mississippi, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2006.
Survivors include, her children, Marsha Swift, Ronda Yates, Russell Swift and wife Bobbi, and Tom Swift and wife Gloria all of Alma; one sister, Gloria Welker of Salem; grandchildren, Mike Swift and wife Kasey, Kim Thomas, Bethany Lowry and husband Andy, and Elizabeth Swift all of Alma, Jayme Godoyo and husband George of Centralia, and Kennedi Arnold of Alma; step-grandchildren, Joshua Arnold and wife Jenna of Benton and Jamie Downes of Centralia; great-grandchildren, Kayli, Kyra, Kinley and Kaitlyn Swift and Bentley Genaust; step-great-grandchildren, Opheliah, Oliver and Blaise Lowry of Alma and Makenna Downes of Centralia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, James Williams; sister, Leah Vallow; and son-in-law, Randy Yates.
Sue graduated from Kinmundy High School, was a member of Alma Christian Church, and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She worked as a bookkeeper and was Co-owner of Swift Auction Service for 37 years.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Alma Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Shriners Hospital in St. Louis and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.
