Sherry Lynn Phelps, age 56 of Dix formerly of Salem, passed away on Sunday December 1, 2019 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Sherry was born on November 26, 1963 in Centralia, IL to James Allen and Kathryn Deanna (Brubaker) Phelps. Survivors include her mother, Kathryn Deanna Phelps of Dix; aunts and uncles, Bill Luttrell and wife Joanne of Salem, Mirrium Luttrell Gratze and husband Harry of Fairbanks, Alaska, Gene DeWitt and wife Karen of North Pole, Alaska, Gary Leon Luttrell and wife Melody of Jasper, Texas, Charles Dean Phelps and wife Doris of Opdyke, Harold Phelps and wife Pat of Centralia, Freda Phelps Halfacre and husband Glen of Iuka, and Phyllis Davis of Salem. Sherry is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, Steven Lee Phelps, grandparents, Kathryn and Doug Luttrell and Flossie and Alfred Phelps, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sherry sold AVON and worked at A.D.S. Paper Service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Salem. Funeral services for Sherry Lynn Phelps will be held on Thursday December 7, 2019 at 11:00am at Rogers- Atkins Funeral Home with George Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at the Palestine Cemetery in Iuka. There will be a visitation held on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30am until the time of the service. Memorial contributions can be made to any local Angel Tree and can be left at the funeral home.
