Obituary of William L. "Bill" Morgan
William L. “Bill” Morgan, age 73 of Salem, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Bethesda Meadows in Ellisville, MO.
Bill was born on June 13, 1948 in Centralia, the son of Lewis and Evelyn Irene (Stroud) Morgan. He married Carolyn “Sue” (Bailey) Morgan on April 10, 1971 in Kinmundy, and she preceded him in death on February 13, 2021.
Survivors include a daughter, Julie (Mike) Wolfe; a son, Jeff (Emily) Morgan; a daughter, Jane Range; a son, John (Lindsay) Morgan; 10 grandchildren, Blake Wolfe, Bailey Wolfe, Taylor Morgan, Averie Morgan, Chase Morgan, Griffin Range, Ellie Range, Gavin Range, Lillian Morgan and Isla Morgan; a sister Bobbi Baguhn; a sister, Sharon (Merlyn) Fish, and a brother, Rick (Susie) Henegar and various nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Morgan; mother, Evelyn Morgan Henegar; step-father, Walter Otis Henegar; and wife, Sue Morgan.
Bill was a teacher at Salem Community High School for 30 years, spending most of his years as the Drivers Education Director. On the coaching side, Coach Morgan successfully led the Salem Boys Golf Team for 22 years, founded and coached the Salem Girls Golf Team, and was the SCHS Tennis coach for 15 years. Due to his continued coaching successes, Bill and several of his teams/players are members of the SCHS Sports Hall of Fame.
Graveside services for William L. “Bill” Morgan will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin with Stan Morrison officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem followed by a Celebration of Life Dinner at the Salem Country Club. There will be an additional visitation from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Salem Community High School Golf Team and can be left at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.
