Obituary of Art Miller

Arthur George “Buddy” Miller, Jr. age 65 of Buckley, passed away at Twin Willows Nursing Center in Salem on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Arthur was born on July 12, 1956 in Chicago, the son of Arthur George Miller Sr. and Florence Darlene (Wagner) Miller. Survivors include his sister, Janice Miller Fordyce and husband Robert of Fulton, MO; nieces and nephews, Sheri Buccifero and husband Joe, Billy Voebel and wife Jamie, Christine Pressa and husband Lenny, Maureen Watkins and husband Chris, Michael Voebel and wife Janelle, Janice Fordyce, Kimberly Urban and husband Richard, and Colleen Fordyce-Favella and husband Sergio; many great nieces and great-nephews; and numerous great-great nieces and great-great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Voebel; and niece, Jennifer Fordyce Sands. Art was of the Lutheran faith. He was an avid sports fan. Art enjoyed playing basketball in his younger years, fishing, backgammon, cards, and spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He worked as a carpenter for many years. In keeping with Arthur’s wishes, he will be donated to science at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He will be interred in the SIU School of Medicine Mausoleum at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements.
