Obituary of Stella M. Riggs
Stella M. Riggs, age 89 of Salem, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her home.
Stella was born on July 16, 1932 in South Fulton, Tennessee the daughter of Brown and Novella (Anderson) Pogue. She married Donald Riggs on July 2, 1955 in Evansville, IN and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage. Donald preceded her in death on July 25, 2016.
Survivors include her daughters, Angie Vick and husband Ron of Rome, GA and Dianne Howe and husband Mark of Salem; grandchildren, Beau Howe and wife Lauren, Matt Vick and wife Rachel, Brandon Howe and wife Siretha, Sarah Simmons and husband Matt, Caleb Howe, and Collin Howe and wife Sara; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Donald Dean Pogue.
Stella was a member of the Salem Church of Christ. She was a devoted homemaker and dedicated to her family.
Funeral services for Stella M. Riggs will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Virgil Hammontree officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Potter Children’s Home and can be left at Crouse Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
