Dale W. Morris, Jr. age 91 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Doctors Nursing and Rehabilitation in Salem. Dale was born on August 6, 1930 in Salem the son of Dale W. and Frances (McHaney) Morris. He married Jessie L. (Duncan) Morris on August 15, 1956 in Salem and she preceded him in death on January 15, 2019. He is survived by one son, Doug Morris and wife Susan of Salem; one daughter, Ramona Taylor and husband John of Metropolis; four grandchildren, Brian Morris and wife Jenny, Dustin Morris and wife Kara, Michelle Kent and Christina Taylor; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Smith of Texas and Norma Rollinson of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Jerry Morris, Robert Morris, and Richard Morris; and one sister, Shirley Morris. Dale was a member of the First Baptist Church in Salem. He served in the United States Army and was a graduate of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He was employed with Stanford Engineering for 46 years and retired as the Chief Engineer. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, golf, gardening, and wood working. A private funeral service for Dale W. Morris, Jr. will be held at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Dr. Andy DeWitt officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
