Obituary of Doris "Dottie" Marie Baldridge
Doris “Dottie” Marie Baldridge, 89, of Salem, died on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Fireside
House of Centralia.
She was born in Odin, Illinois on October 11, 1932, daughter of the late Sam and Alice (Soper)
O’Briant. She married Donald E. Baldridge on July 6, 1958 in Odin, and he preceded her in death on September 28, 2002.
Mrs. Baldridge is survived by her children, Jane Baldridge of Salem, Jeffrey (Kim) Baldridge of
Salem, Beth Runion (Robert “Buddy”) of Belleville; grandchildren, Josh Runion (Jamie) of St. Jacob, Katie Pineda of Salem, Andrew (Ashley) Baldridge of Salem, Leah Baldridge of Salem, Derek Runion (Fiancée Brianna) of Belleville, Ryan Runion of Belleville, Aaron Runion of Belleville; four great grandchildren, Hayden Runion and Olivia Runion of St. Jacob and Gabby Pineda and Alexa Mae Pineda of Salem; two sisters-in-law Pat Baldridge of Salem and Shirley Baldridge of Centralia; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Baldridge
(2020), her sisters, Betty Sigrist and Mary Souder; brother, Tom O’Briant; infant brother, George O’Briant; father-in-law, Robert L. Baldridge; mother-in-law, Maude M. (Duncan) Baldridge; sister-in-law, Eva Quandt (Lester); and brothers-in-law, Ray Baldridge and William “Bill” Baldridge.
Dottie was a member of First Christian Church in Salem. She was a devoted daughter, wife,
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved nothing better than
seeing her family and spending time with them. She cherished her family’s beloved dogs.
Prior to her marriage, Dottie worked in retail and after marriage she was a devoted wife and
mother, phenomenal cook and gifted seamstress. She was also a licensed hairdresser. She also
served as an election judge.
Services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Phil Martin officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery in Salem. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the City of Salem Animal Shelter or Mission Salem and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home.
