Richard (Rich) Eugene Edwards passed away December 17, 2021 in Mt. Vernon. He was born on April 6, 1956, in Effingham, Illinois to Sydney and Ilieen (Herrick) Edwards. He attended Oskaloosa Grade School and graduated from North Clay High School. Rich married Brenda (DeVore) Edwards in Kinmundy, Illinois in 1989 and to this union was born a son, Joseph Alan Edwards. In addition to his wife Brenda of 32 years and son Joe, he leaves to mourn brothers Doug (Patty) Edwards of Xenia and Jim (Donetta) Edwards of Norris City. Rich was a member of the Kinmundy Christian Church where he served on the Praise Team and wherever else he was needed. He worked in the Petro Department for Effingham Equity for over 43 years helping to make the Fuel Department a success. He cared for his customers and it showed in every phone call and delivery. He and his son Joe, together, founded, owned, and operated a successful pressure washing business, Edwards Pro Wash, since 2012. Rich will be remembered by friends and family as a guy with a great sense of humor and a caring soul. Memorial contributions may be made to Kinmundy Christian Church or the donor’s choice and will be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
