Obituary of Mima Lee Shaw

Mima Lee Shaw, age 88 of Salem, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Twin Willows Nursing Center in Salem. Mima was born on April 19, 1933 in Kinmundy, the daughter of Roy V. and Thelma (Monical) Whitney. Survivors include her children, Jerry Marble and wife Cathy of Salem and Jim Marble and wife Sheryl of Altamont; she raised her granddaughter, Chelsea Rae Duke and husband Nathan of Salem; other grandchildren include Christel Laatch and husband Doug, Kendra Walker and husband Mike, Kelly Pagone and husband Jim, Sarah Beth Buchanan, Crystal Gray Leathers, and Brian Marble and wife Amber; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Whitney of Farina and Dale Whitney and wife Betty of Salem; sister, Shirley Jahraus of Farina, half-sisters, Vicki Ingram and husband Bob of Kinmundy, Patricia McClain and husband Joe of Salem, Brenda Weeks of Kinmundy, and Beverly Wodtka and husband Bob of Salem; and a step sister, Joyce Stearns of Jefferson City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Myrna “Jeanne” Marble; brother, Gale Whitney; and step-mother, Letha Gordon. Mima was a member of Brown Christian Church and was baptized on May 3,1952. She worked as a postal worker for many years. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Parker Cemetery in Xenia with Shannon Bopp officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday at Crouse Funeral Home from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospitals for Children and can be left at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.
