Carol Elizabeth Cook, age 83 of Greensburg, KY, passed away at her son’s home in Odin, IL on November 2, 2021. Carol was born on November 9, 1937 in Summersville, KY the daughter of Hugh and Emma (Cummins) Smith. She is survived by two sons, Douglas Spitler and William Lewis Elmore Spitler and wife Leanna both of Odin; three grandchildren, Laura Spitler, Jaime Spitler, and Billy Spitler; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Kenneth Elmore. Carol was a member of the Nazarene church. She worked for World Color Press and later at a bookstore as a sales clerk. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Summersville, KY with burial in the Wilson Cemetery in Summersville. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements.
