Obituary of Charles G Ashley

Charles G. Ashley, age 75 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Twin Willows Nursing Center in Salem. Charles was born on August 7, 1946 in Moulton, Alabama the son of Troy and Elouise (James) Ashley. Survivors include his children, Ryan Ashley and wife Misty of Salem, Janelle Ice of Salem, Charlotte Derrick and husband James of Saltillo, Mississippi, and Shane Ashley and wife Marsha of New Albany, Mississippi; nine grandchildren, Jamie Hanskiewicz, Cameron Derrick, Caleb Shetley, Tori Mulvany, Aryana Ashley, Colyn Shetley, Danielle Ashley, Abby Ice, and Jared Ashley; three great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Waymon Ashley, Cecil Ashley and wife Lorene, and Wayne Ashley and wife Bonnie. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wendell Ashley; and sister-in-law, Melba Ashley. Charles was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. He farmed for many years and was a member of Antique Power Days. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He always said that he entered school in the front door and they kicked him out the back. Funeral services for Charles Ashley will be held at Noon on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Grace Church of the Nazarene in Salem with Trent Ice officiating. Private interment will follow at 1880 (Lovells Grove) Cemetery in Omega. Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church.
