Obituary of Ruth Ann Robinson
Ruth Ann (Wooters) Robinson, age 77 of Orchardville, passed away at her home on Monday, September 20, 2021 with her husband Daniel, family, and dog Lola by her side.
Ruth Ann was born on September 20, 1944 in Centralia, the daughter of Walter and Eileen (Peoples) Wooters. On January 1, 1978 she married Daniel L. Robinson and he survives in Orchardville.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Gregory K. Weems and wife Jill of Olney, and Brandon L. Weems and wife Pam of Spokane, WA; eight grandchildren, Lyndsey Barth and husband TJ, Marcus Weems, Ember Kabbes and husband Justin, Kendyl Mitchell and husband Evan, Jordan Weems, Lincoln Keller, Madison Egleston and husband Zac, and Ryann Weems; great-grandchildren, Bentley Stovall, Braeda Barth, Brynlee Stovall, Bryleigh Barth, Evalyn Mitchell, Ayden Mitchell, and twins on the way; six sisters, Shelby Sladek, Barbara Delaney, Peggy Holloman and husband Lonnie, Patty Davis and husband Stanley, Shirley Sill, and Vickie Brubaker and husband Tom; one sister-in-law, Angela Wooters; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eileen and Walter Wooters; one sister, Rose Ellen Mattka and husband Gus; two brothers, Jack Wooters and wife Willine and Jim Wooters; brothers-in-law, Roger Sladek, Kenneth Delaney, and Shorty Sill.
Ruth Ann was the first person in Marion County to be diagnosed with polio at the age of 7. She fought the disease with determination her entire life. She persevered through life, graduating from Salem High School in 1962. She went on to co-own the Weems White Spot in Olney. She later worked in secretarial positions at Dr. Stanley’s Dental Office and then AMF/Roadmaster. She spent the majority of her working life in Federal Civil Service and retired in 2004 as a Program Analyst with the Naval Aviation Depot in Jacksonville, Florida after 28 years. After retirement Daniel and Ruth Ann moved to Orchardville and built their log home where the enjoyed the last 16 years.
Funeral Services for Ruth Ann Robinson will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in rural Centralia. Memorials can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children-St. Louis and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. The funeral service will be recorded and available to view on the funeral home website following the conclusion of services.
