Obituary of Kimberly Sue Mulvany

Kimberly Sue Mulvany is the daughter of Pastor Doug Meyer and his wife, Marilyn (Hartmann) Meyer. She was born on Sept. 13, 1983, in Vandalia, IL, and was taken from this life this past Wed, July 14, at Salem Township Hospital in Salem following a 3 year battle with brain cancer. Kim was a 2002 graduate of Salem High School and then attended Kaskaskia College where she obtained an RN Degree. On April 17, 2010 she married the love of her life, Micah Mulvany, and that union was blessed with a daughter, McKenzie, and a son, Ryder. She worked for a number of years on the obstetrics unit of Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She loved her job and helped deliver many babies. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Edward Meyer, and her maternal grandparents, Henry and Marion Hartmann. Survivors include her husband Micah; children, McKenzie and Ryder; father and mother, Doug and Marilyn Meyer of Salem; sister Bethany Meyer of Salem; nieces, Maliyah and Brooklyn Hamilton of Salem; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Rhonda Mulvany of Salem; sister-in-law, Stephanie (Kurt) Beer of Kell; Casey Mulvany, of Belleville, IL, and sister-in-law, Ali (Kory) Pruden of Salem; grandmother-in-law, Sandra Jenkins of Odin; niece, Brittany (Sevearn) Phillips; and nephews, Payven and Pacer Pruden; and many kind, caring, wonderful friends. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, July 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Michael Feldmann. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 2:00 o’clock at Salem Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church for their new building project that will feature a 30-foot cross, prayer garden, and walkway that will be visible from the interstate or to SCHS Academic Foundation for a nursing scholarship in Kim’s name and can be left at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
