Joseph Cronk Jr, age 74 of Salem, IL, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 5:30 pm at his home with his family by his side. Joseph retired as a truck driver after over 40 years. He was a member of the Evergreen Christian Church in Salem, IL. Joseph was born on April 11, 1947 in Grant, Michigan the son of Joseph and Lola (Biggs) Cronk. He married Susan Taylor on April 8, 1966 and she survives in Salem, IL. In addition to his wife of 55 years, Susan Cronk, he is survived by four children, Rodney Cronk and wife Sandra of Paris, MI, Michelle Henderson and husband Greg of Salem, IL, Brian Cronk and wife Brandie of Allegan, MI, and Katrina Chitwood and husband Trevor of Salem, IL; 11 grandchildren, CJ Aldrich, Thomas Aldrich, Eric Henderson and friend Kendra French, Cody Heser, Brandon Henderson and wife Autumn, Jacob Heser, Nikki Jo Heser, Briana Cronk, Kata Cronk, Alexis Chitwood, and Kole Cronk; and siblings, George Cronk and wife Pam of Newaygo, MI, Ken Cronk and wife Sue of Grant, MI; and Jane Veltkamp and husband Dave of Grant, MI. Joseph is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents. Private graveside services will be held in Michigan.
