Obituary of Merle Allen Keller
Merle Allen Keller, age 79 of Salem, passed away at his home on Friday, October 2, 2020.
Allen was born on October 19, 1940 in Iuka, the son of Merle and Opal (Decker) Keller. He married Betty Jane Camp on January 1, 1972 and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, Gregory Keller and wife Laura and their family of Bridgeport; daughter, Tammy Tate and husband Mike and their family of Salem; niece, Marie Melton and husband Joe and their family of Centralia; sister, Wanda Fatheree and husband Bill and their family of Salem; brothers, Leon Keller and his family of Iuka and Doug Keller and his family of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; nephew, Steve Fatheree; and great-great niece, Lanie Hester.
Allen was a member of the Odin First Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked for Brown Shoe Company and later as a groundskeeper for Rend Lake.
Funeral services for Merle Allen Keller will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Jason Newell officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery, with Military Rites by the Salem American Legion. Memorials can be made to the Paralyzed Veterans and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home.
