Sylvia Laverne Hofstetter, age 90 of Salem, passed away on November 17, 2019 at Odin Care Center in Odin. Sylvia was born on October 5, 1929 in Centralia, Illinois to Clyde and Ruby (Bridges) Hutson. She married George “Bud” Roger Hofstetter on August 21, 1949 in Centralia, IL and he preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, James Roger Hofstetter and wife Norma of Salem and Thomas Ray Hofstetter of Huston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Anna Lou Brown. Sylvia was a nurse and then later she worked as a hostess at Austin’s Restaurant. She was of the Methodist Faith. Funeral services for Sylvia Laverne Hofstetter will be held on Friday November 22, 2019 at 11:00 am at Rogers- Atkins Funeral Home with Lynette DeAtley officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. Memorial contributions can be made to the family and left at the funeral home.
