Obituary of Karen Jean Plonta-Stovall
Karen Jean Plonta-Stovall, age 76 of Odin, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
Karen was born on March 19, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of William and Emmagene (Martin) Nathan. She married Rocky Stovall on April 16, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada and he survives in Odin.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one brother, David Lewis and wife Cindy of Tulsa, OK; one son, Richard Krueger of Alaska; two daughters, Debbie Shaw and husband Devon of Michigan and Stacey Whittaker of New Hampshire; two step-daughters, Pamela Kay Vaughn and husband Kenny of Odin and Cynthia Baity and husband Jason of Salem; ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gary.
Karen was a kind and caring person, always quick to help anyone in need. She also cared very much for animals. She worked as a beautician in Anchorage, Alaska and then as an over the road truck driver for over 15 years as a co-driver with her husband. She attended Greenview Christian Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Stovall home, at 601 S. Wood Street, Odin, IL 62870 with Claude Howell officiating. Memorials can be made to the Humane Society and can be received at the funeral home.
