Obituary of Ronald Ralph Snyder
Ronald Ralph Snyder, age 78 of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Odin Health Care Center in Odin.
Ronald was born on January 22, 1942 in Centralia, the son of Ralph and Juanita (Johnson) Snyder. On June 20, 1998 he married Barbara “Bobbi” (Brandt) Snyder in Litchfield and she survives in Salem.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Melisa Rittenberry and husband Jason of Nashville, TN, Melane Green of Salem, Marc Snyder and wife Ashlee of Centralia, Michele Lee Jones and husband Richard of Knoxville, TN and Christopher Allen Mathes of East Peoria; brother, Michael Snyder and wife Kathy of Texas; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; special nephew, Michael Clint Snyder of Flora; several other nieces and nephews and special friends, David and Vickie Malan of Salem.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Juanita Snyder and his stepmother, Beaulah Snyder.
Ron was a member of the Salem First Baptist Church. He retired from Duncan Oil as supervisor of the roustabouts after 30 years. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A. and the Egyptian Collectors Association.
A Memorial Service for Ronald Ralph Snyder will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Doug Romine officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:30 pm until the time of the service. Memorials can be made to the Salem Animal Shelter and can be made over the phone by calling the shelter at 618-822-6696 or received at Crouse funeral home.
