Obituary of Chris Campbell

Chris Campbell, age 44 of Salem, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Chris was born on May 18, 1975 in Highland, IL to Mark and Mary (Sorensen) Lake. Chris is survived by his parents Mark and Mary Lake of Bluford, his fiancé, Kara Anderson of Salem, four sons, Christopher Campbell of Salem, Curtis Campbell of Okinawa, Japan, Kevin Anderson of Salem and Brayden Anderson of Salem; two sisters, Jamie Miller and husband Eric of O’Fallon and Tami Hiatt and husband John of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Jonathan Lake and girlfriend Amber Payne of Mt. Vernon; brother-in-law, Dallas Freels of Centralia; mother-and father in law, Nancy and Brad Freels of Centralia; special friends, Erin and Rob Jackson of Keyesport, Amanda Charlton of Salem, Nick Whelchel of Salem, Angie Fitzpatrick of Mt. Vernon, Mark Veriga of Aviston, along with numerous other friends. Chris served in the United States Army for 11 ½ years and was an avid motorcycle rider. He was a press operator at Radiac Abrasive. Funeral Services for Chris Campbell will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 4:00 pm at Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home with Shannon Bopp officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by the Salem American Legion. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Memorials can be made to the family and will be received at the funeral home.
