Obituary of Robert Scott Spear
Robert ‘Scott’ Spear, age 54, of Centralia, died Thursday, July 18th, at his home. He was a private pilot and worked as a correctional officer at the Centralia Correctional Center. Scott was a Corporal in the Marines. He enjoyed sky diving and fishing.
He was born October 31st, 1964 in Centralia to Jerry Spear and Gladys (Cohlmeyer) Lambert.
Survivors include father Jerry Spear and special friend Surang Hancock of Centralia, mother: Gladys (Cohlmeyer) Lambert and husband Art of Pinkneyville; two daughters: Brittany Pate of Quad Cities; Brook Spear of Salem; sister: Robin Butcher of California; grandchildren: James Williams and Maverick Culy; and several close co-workers.
Funeral services for Robert ‘Scott’ Spear will be held at ten Monday morning at the Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem, with Tony Marcum officiating. There will be an Illinois Department of Corrections Honor Guard. Burial in the Ashley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Anyone attending the funeral is asked to wear St. Louis Cardinals shirts. Memorials may be made to the Centralia Humane Society.
