Obituary of Janice Womack
Janice Womack, age 80 of Salem, passed away on Monday November 16, 2020 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt Vernon.
Janice was born May 11, 1940 to Raymond and Audrey (Burkett) Soper. She attended the Odin Public Schools. In June 1958 she married Arthur Lee Organ. They had seven children.
She worked in Kankakee State hospital, hospitals in Wyoming, St Mary’s Hospital in Centralia and the Salem Hospital. She was well known for being the Avon lady. She really loved doing that.
Her first husband Art died Dec 4, 1989. On June 8, 1990 she met Paul Womack, and they were constant companions. They married June 8, 2000 in Gatlinburg, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Art Organ, son Daniel Organ, and grandson Jason Boothman.
Left to mourn her passing is husband Paul Womack, sons Doug Organ and Jeff Organ, all of Salem; daughters Debra (Rich) Bates, Irvington; Jana (Steve) Doolen, Kinmundy; Sherri (Joe) Lay, rural Centralia; Amie (John) Fergerson, Nashville, TN, Sue Anne Carter and husband Joe of Iuka; brothers Gary (Lisa) Soper, Kankakee; Randy (Casey) Soper, Decatur; sisters Sandy (Jim) Henson, Centralia; Brenda (Larry) Hays, Mesa, AZ; Gloria (Dave) Finney, Centralia; and Audra Cowie, Centralia; step-children Staci (Jimmy) Litaker, Paul (Debbie) Womack, America (Tony) Enlow, all of Vandalia; and Seth (Alyssa) Womack, Terrebonne, OR; and many grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Janice Womack will be held on Friday November 20, 2020 at at 10:00 a.m. at the Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s choice and can be left at the Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
