Rosetta Hanks, age 85 of Kinmundy, passed away on Sunday June 16, 2019 at Salem Township Hospital. She was born on October 8, 1933 in Marion County, Illinois to Elery and Bernice (Eddings) Butts. She married Myron Hanks on January 12, 1951 in Salem and he survives in Kinmundy. Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Marilyn Webster and husband Ben of Kinmundy; son, Marlin Hanks and wife Michele of Kinmundy; sister, Laverne Townsend and husband Jack of Kell; brother, Quinten Butts and wife Barb of Kinmundy; grandchildren, Delana Robbins, Chris Webster, Daniel Webster, Sarah Mette, Candra Hays and Justin Hanks; 20 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Burdette Butts and a sister, Cindy Dunbar. Rosetta was a farm wife and a member of the Brown Christian Church. Funeral services for Rosetta Hanks will be held on Wednesday June 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Brown Christian Church with Jeff Bent officiating. Burial will follow at Phillips Cemetery in Kinmundy. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00- 8:00 pm at Rogers- Atkins Funeral Home. Memorial donations can be made to Phillips Cemetery and can be left at the funeral home.
