Betty Jo (Jody) Maroney, daughter of the late John H. and Roberta (Bobbie) Maroney, peacefully passed into new life on Thursday, September 19, 2019. She is survived by her brother and his wife, John P. and Libby Maroney of Walterboro, SC; her sister, Terry L. Maroney of Bastrop, TX; and her nephews and their wives, John H. and Holly Maroney of Sumter, SC and James P. and DJ Maroney of Columbia, SC. Also surviving are her beloved aunt, Patricia Hall of Murphysboro, IL and her dearest friend, Dr. Linda Grace Solis of San Antonio, TX, as well as several cousins, great-nieces, a great-nephew, and many close friends. Jody graduated from McKendree College (now McKendree University) and spent 32 years teaching fifth through eighth grade at All Saints Academy in Breese, IL and most recently at Myers Elementary in San Antonio, TX. She will be greatly missed. Graveside services for Betty Jo (Jody) Maroney will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 11:00 am at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem with Steve Fox officiating. Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements.
