Obituary of Virginia Horn

Virginia Horn, age 90 of Salem passed away on Friday August 9, 2019 at Cedarhurst Memory Care in Centralia, IL. Virginia was born on December 19, 1928 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Henry Eugene and Ellen Ann( Emerson) Chandler. She married Jay Horn on October 12, 1946 in Fort Smith Arkansas. Survivors include daughters; Sue Ellen Smith and husband Jeffrey of Gilbert, AZ; Jo Ann Orr of South Bend, IN; Martha Spencer and husband Terry of Salem; sisters, Daisy Chandler, Wanda Clay and husband Floyce, Rosemary Chandler, and Joyce Piquet and husband Jerry all of Poteau, OK; sister in-law, Judy Chandler of Poteau, OK; brother in-law: Joe Dalmut of Poteau, OK; grandchildren, Ted and Peggy Smith, Benjamin and Nona Smith, Joe and Christina Smith, George and Amy Smith, Mary and Jon Bennett, Sam and Kim Smith, Anna and Jim Greenwell, Michael Smith, James Smith, Wesley and Christina Orr, Kristin Billings, Jessica Orr, Liz and Eric Boldt, Jason and Jeanette Beasley, Serena and Kyle Baldridge, and Rebecca Paddick; 44 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sisters, Gloria Hargrove, Norma Jean Chandler, Pansy Bishop, and Cherry Dalmut, a brother, Dwayne Chandler and a great granddaughter: Emily Smith Virginia was an LPN Nurse in Fort Wayne, Indiana for several years. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 13, 2019 at 1:00pm at Rogers- Atkins Funeral Home with Kyle Baldridge officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Salem. There will be a visitation on Tuesday at the funeral home from 12:00pm until the time of services. Memorial donations can be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital and left at the funeral home.
