I met my father in 2008, thanks to the encouragement of my therapist at that time. I really dont have much to say since I didn't spend as much time with him as my step mom, Nancy Heflin. I can say this though, by meeting him, all those child hood questions I had, were answered after I got to meet him. I now know partly why I am like I am and that's because I take after my father. I now know who I am. I now know why I am the way I am. We share the love of music, dancing, reading and most of all our Native American heritage. One day I hope I can have a native American collection like him. The video I posted is of the song that happened to be playing when he passed. I want to Thank those who made it possible for me to be there to hold his hand, read to him and play music for him. I would like to believe that I was able to make his passing a little easier and more peaceful. The first memory that comes to mind is when my kids and I were at the old DG, some song was playing and of course I had to dance. Here comes the I'm man coming along and boogieing with me. Haha. The first thought that came to my mind when I met him, was a picture of me in the bat tub. Haha. If you could see that picture of me and him, you would know there was going to be double trouble, because we both had the interest faces you'd ever seen. Haha
