Rich Crouse

Owner/Director

A lifelong resident of Salem, Illinois, Rich Crouse has dedicated his career to serving families with compassion, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to his community.

Rich graduated from Salem Community High School in 2004 before attending Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana, where he earned his degree in Mortuary Science. He began his career in funeral service in 2007 at Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home, working alongside longtime owner and funeral director Larry Rogers. After more than a decade of learning, growing, and building relationships with the families he served, Rich purchased the business in January 2020, establishing Crouse Funeral Home.

For Rich, funeral service is much more than a profession. It is an opportunity to care for neighbors, support families through some of life's most difficult moments, and make a meaningful difference in the community he has always called home. He takes great pride in continuing the tradition of personal, compassionate funeral service while finding new ways to better serve the families who place their trust in Crouse Funeral Home.

Rich is also actively involved in professional and community organizations. He serves on the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation's Funeral Directors and Embalmers Licensing and Disciplinary Board, where he contributes his experience and knowledge to help uphold the standards of the funeral service profession. Locally, he serves on the Salem Community High School Academic Foundation Board and the Salem Little League Board, supporting educational opportunities and youth athletics in his hometown.

Outside of the funeral home, one of Rich's greatest passions is coaching youth baseball. Having spent many years involved with Salem Little League and youth travel baseball, he enjoys teaching young athletes not only the fundamentals of the game but also the importance of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and character. Rich believes that coaching provides an opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people, both on and off the field. Some of his most rewarding moments come from watching the players he coaches develop confidence, build friendships, and grow as individuals.

Above all, Rich is a devoted husband and father. He and his wife, Mallory, live in Salem with their three sons, Weston, Nolan, and Cohen. Whether he is serving a family at the funeral home, volunteering in the community, or spending an evening at the baseball field, Rich remains committed to the people and community that have shaped his life.

Rich considers it both a privilege and a responsibility to serve the families of Salem and the surrounding communities, and he looks forward to continuing that service for many years to come.
