Dorene Donaldson

Dorene Ann Donaldson, age 52 of Zeigler, Illinois, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois.

Dorene was born on July 18, 1973, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Dean Edward Linder and Doris Ann Baker. She started dating Samuel Mark Donaldson in 1992 after her graduation from high school and they would later marry on June 2, 2009.

Survivors include her husband, Samuel Mark Donaldson of Zeigler; her mother, Doris Baker and her boyfriend Danny of Sandoval; her children, Steven Dean Whitney and girlfriend Heather of Champaign, Dillon Levi Donaldson and girlfriend Karissa of Centralia, Kylee Ann Donaldson and boyfriend Steven of Kinmundy, Kolton Lee Donaldson and girlfriend Jaleese of Zeigler, Kenzi Breann Donaldson and girlfriend Tianna of Carbondale; her grandchildren, Addalyn, Ryder, Madilyn, and Myles; her sister, Jamie Watson and husband Rodney of Salem; a nephew, Blake; two nieces, Britney and Courtney; along with three great nieces and two great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dean Linder, and her son, Samuel Mark Donaldson II.

Graveside services for Dorene Ann Donaldson will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 2:45 p.m. at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. There will be a time of visitation held at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the family and will be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
